A Fistful of Pasta

A Fisftul of Pasta

POWER. POLITICS. PASTA.

A global investigation into the seeds, chemicals, and corporate forces shaping what we eat, using pasta, the world’s most iconic staple, to expose the hidden power struggle behind the modern food chain.

At first glance, pasta seems simple: flour, water, tradition. But behind one of the world’s most beloved foods lies a far more unsettling story, one about patented seeds, industrial wheat, glyphosate, political lobbying, collapsing food sovereignty, and a system increasingly controlled by a handful of powerful interests. A Fistful of Pasta uses pasta as its central thread to unravel a much bigger global narrative: who controls the ingredients that feed the planet, and what that control is costing us.

Moving from the wheat fields of Italy and Canada to laboratories, factories, family farms, and dinner tables, the film explores the battle between ancestral farming and industrial agriculture, between regional identity and global standardization, between nourishment and profit. What emerges is not just a story about pasta, but about power itself, and why this seemingly ordinary food may be one of the most politically charged and influential foods on earth.
