About Anthony Sarracco & Sarracco Studios.

Anthony Sarracco is a Canadian writer, director, producer, and founder of Sarracco Studios. Through Sarracco Studios, he has created, written, directed, and produced more than 30 film and television projects for broadcast and digital platforms across North America.His work spans documentary, scripted television, feature films, dark comedy, crime stories, historical nonfiction, and cultural programming. Sarracco’s projects are rooted in cinematic storytelling, strong character perspective, and stories of identity, faith, crime, immigration, family, cultural memory, and the multicultural communities in Canada.

His documentaries include films on Padre Pio, Italian Canadian history, wartime trauma, cultural superstition, and the preservation of heritage through food, faith, language, and tradition. His feature documentary Tendenza received a theatrical release, while Malocchio Moderno and his documentary on Padre Pio earned multiple international awards.

In 2024, Sarracco directed Land of Thorns, a feature-length television documentary examining the mass rape of women in Italy during the Second World War. The film brought attention to a painful historical wound and to survivors whose stories were often ignored or silenced.

As a screenwriter, Sarracco has written several feature scripts, including Wolves of Midtown, Mothers of Mayhem, Monte Cassino, Ave, and Young Boys. His screenplay Mothers of Mayhem was an official selection at the Beverly Hills Film Festival, while Wolves of Midtown received screenplay recognition, including top honors from the Vegas Film Awards.

Sarracco is also the creator, writer, and director of Whip Cream, a six-episode dark comedy television series, with a second season in post-production. His upcoming feature film Night Owls, which he wrote and will direct, is scheduled to film this fall. Sarracco Studios is also developing Ramblers, a major independent production with Akoolfilm company, slated to begin production in 2027.
